100 years ago, Brickell used to be a neighborhood full of luxurious mansions, home to very wealthy families, which gave it the name Millionaire’s Row.
Brickell owes its name to Will and Mary, who were one of the first families known in the area. They established their home and a commercial business in the neighborhood in 1871. They bought large pieces of land and situated their business in what is known today as Calle Quinta and Brickell Avenue. Certainly, they did not imagine the bright future that this area would have.

In 1970 began the construction of monumental buildings that are nowadays international business centers. Today, it makes Miami one of the top 10 US financial hubs where the most important banks of the country and of Latin America are located.
