The Miami NFT Week was the perfect excuse to discuss the challenges facing an industry that has declined, the economic freedom for artists in this sector, and how workers will need to adapt to the new technologies offered by Web 3.0.

Despite a decline of over 70% since 2021, in tandem with the fall of cryptocurrencies and significant challenges such as a lack of regulation in the market and the carbon footprint left by its production, it was clear that this is currently an industry worth approximately USD $22 trillion.

Despite its collapse, it has become a source of income for many artists and, above all, a space in the economy ready to transform different conventional work models. It’s expected that by 2025, the sector will have an approximate value of USD $80 trillion.

Artificial intelligence and artistic freedom were key topics to promote the autonomy that Web 3.0 is looking for. Education and the need to motivate people to incorporate these new technologies into their daily work is another fundamental point for the future of the industry.

The truth is the future has arrived to stay, and this cyberculture of the Metaverse, NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and Blockchain are just the first step towards a world that will surely make our lives easier and provide new ways of relating to others, our environment, art, and culture.
